With the rapid development of Chinese economy and the continuous deepening of the globalization process, market competition between multinational and local manufacturers are also getting more and more explosive. In this situation, companies must establish a scientific comprehensive management system to accommodate and even overcome this situation. What is more, as the skeletons as well as muscle systems, which can make enterprise have normal business and operation, equipment management is particularly important. How to improve the availability of production equipment and reducing maintenance costs of equipment, which has become a production-oriented enterprises an unavoidable topic.In order to meet modern manufacturing enterprises’ device demand in a more cost-effective way for comprehensive security capabilities, the paper takes typical tobacco equipment as research object and makes the prediction modeling and analysis of failure rate. What’s more, the prediction error results of the different models will be made comparative analysis and application of case studies to get the best failure rate forecasting model. The resulting failure rate will be used to forecast remaining service life of equipment. Establish the preventive maintenance strategy model and research applications which meet the equipment availability with minimal average maintenance costs, which will use MATLAB software for solving optimization simulation model to obtain the final objective function value by determining the optimal variable parameters. Finally, the fault prediction and preventive maintenance system based on PHM is developed and designed.The main contents of this paper are divided into six chapters, as follows:Chapter One: This paper introduces the research background and significance, and also describes PHM theory, failure prediction and preventive maintenance strategy research background and current situation both at home and abroad. In addition to this, it also sets forth the key contents, methods and system structure.Chapter Two: This paper introduces the PHM analysis on typical tobacco equipment, including the PHM theory, theory failure prediction and preventive maintenance strategies, to construct and analyze laid the theoretical foundation for the follow-up model.Chapter Three: The chapter mainly study the modeling and applicability gray prediction theory and artificial neural networks in analysis and comparison of the two prediction models then constructs modeling by using the merits of a combination of gray artificial neural network model based on residual correction. After the failure rate prediction of gray GM(1,1) forecasting model initially, artificial neural network model will make the result its residual correction and get the final failure rate predictions, then do some analysis and application examples.Chapter Four: The chapter mainly study several typical preventive maintenance strategies, and analyzes two different preventive maintenance interval which is determined by analysis of both the strengths and strategies. It also combines the two objectives of equipment availability and average maintenance organically, to build the case to meet the availability of equipment and the average maintenance costs minimal. Preventive maintenance optimization strategy model will be studied and carried out analysis and application examples finally.Chapter Five: The chapter mainly study the development and design of fault prediction and preventive maintenance based on PHM theory management system. Through the system flow chart showing the system’s role and function modules, it will take failure prediction and preventive maintenance management system tobacco cigarette factory equipment as an example to describe major functional blocks.Chapter Six: summarizing overview for the content of this paper and made a study of the deficiencies and the prospects for future work.
