With the development of modern industry, the requirement of the market to the quality is higher and higher, and the nut as one of the important parts of the fastener, has widely functions, and huge need. However, nowadays the production of hot forging nuts adopt the traditional production methods, the feeding of the blank and the transport of the work pieces are all using labors. The production method has low efficiency, the product quality is not stable, and the production cost is greatly increased with the increase of the workers’ wages. Transforming the production line for automation, improving the production efficiency, improving the product quality, reducing production cost are the development trend of nut forging production line. The key technology of the automation transformation of the nut forging production line are how to realize the blank rod material automatic feeding and blank in the forging station automatic transmission In this paper, a kind of automatic production line for nut forging production was researched and designed, the specific work is as follows:Firstly, the forging automation technology status and development trend were analyzed, and by combining with the characteristics of the forging automation technology, the current production line was analyzed. According to the technological requirements of the transformation of the production lines, the general planning for the automation transformation of the nut forging production line was designed and analyzed, then the overall arrangement scheme was obtained.Secondly, according to the general planning, by using modular design method, automatic bar blank feeding system, automatic transport system and safety protection system which are the key constituent parts of the nut forging automatic production line were designed and analyzed detailed, and the optimal structure was obtained.Thirdly, according to the designing and analysis of key constituent parts of the nut forging automatic production line, the automatic forging production line assembly model is established, the working stability and the efficiency utility performances of production line after transformation are analyzed.Forthly, the pneumatic system and control system of the nut forging automatic production line were designed. According to the pneumatic execution element using condition in the whole production line, the schematic diagram of the pneumatic system was designed, the gas source and gas tank were also designed and selected.Fifthly, according to the automatic forging production line assembly model, the automatic conveyor system experimental prototype was built. Through a series of online debugging and experiment designs, the optimum operating speed was obtained.The paper designed and researched the nut forging automatic production line, which can finish bar blank automatic feeding and blank automatic conveying between the forging stations efficiently, realize automatic production, and replace the traditional production method. It has important significance for improving the forging production efficiency, enhancing product quality, reducing production cost, reducing the labor intensity of workers.
