Parts of flange type are widely used in pipeline link device of such industry:Oil,Chemical, Metallurgy, Pharmaceutical, Mechanical, Food, Power. With the economy development,the demand of flange increases rapidly.To meet the market requirements,improve the processing efficiency of the flange,the development of efficient special flange lathe has become an urgent.In this paper,CNC lathe with doubleturrets containing double-column,dual turret structure was studied as the research object. In order to improve performance,overall desig、finite element analysis and structural optimization for lathe were performed. The main work is as follows:1) CNC lathe with doubleturrets was conducted Technology Analysis and Structural Analysis to determine the cutting parameters,process steps and the corresponding tools. The overall structure of the lathe was designed.2) The spindle,vertical feed components and beam of CNC lathe with doubleturrets were modeled,then,the Stress and Stiffness Analysis were carried out separately.The results showed that the intensity of the CNC lathe fuifilled the requirements of the most dangerous conditions,while noting the weak point of structural design of the lathe.3) Each of the first four order natural frequencies was obtained by the Modal Analysis for vertical feed components and beam of the CNC lathe with doubleturrets.The consequence indicated that the frequency of vertical feed components and beam was much higher than the vibration frequency of spindle rotation.Therefore,the rotation of the spindle did not cause body resonance,and the weak links on the dynamic performance were pointed out.4) Response curves of displacement frequency were received in the role of harmonic exciting force after the Harmonic Analysis for vertical feed components and beam. The peak of the curves and results of Modal Analysis were consistent.5) Parametric Modeling and Structure Optimization for vertical feed components and beam were performed separately.After Optimization,the strength and the first order frequency increased by 50% and 9.68%.Volume decreased by 9.2%.
