Sewing machine is the most important machine of garment industry. The development of sewing machine has a great influence on the garment industry. Machinery manufacturing industry is developing towards the direction of intelligent and numerical control. In order to follow this trend, research on tread taking-up and needle driving mechanism is carried out as part of "Numerical control generation" mechanical product innovation application demonstration project The research mainly includes the following contents:(1)The structures, the working principle, the law of motion of the traditional tread taking-up and needle driving mechanism is researched based on the structure of existing industrial sewing machine. Coordination principle between mechanisms is analyzed. The main parameters affecting the working performance of mechanism is determined.Parts of tread taking-up and needle driving mechanism is analyzed. Parameters that influence on the work of parts is determined which prepared for the Modular design on the tread taking-up and needle driving mechanism.(2) Include angle between feed cam and crank is optimized by graph method. Based on the result, the angle that more accord with coordination requirement of industrial sewing machine is obtained. The kinematic characteristics of needle driving mechanism is optimized by analytic method, A structure of needle driving mechanism which dynamic properties is more optimized is obtained.(3) Communication principle between VB and Solidworks is researched. Interface program between VB and Solidworks is prepared.(4) Solidworks is redeveloped. CAD software used for design tread taking-up and needle driving mechanism is prepared with the needs of users.The innovation of this thesis lies in two aspects:On the one hand:design of tread taking-up and needle driving mechanism is optimized. Cooperation between organizations of tread taking-up and needle driving mechanism is optimized. Movement characteristics of tread taking-up and needle driving mechanism is improved. On the other hand:software that could help user to design tread taking-up and needle driving mechanism were programmed, which means the application of Modular and computer aided design of industrial sewing machine has been developed.
