CAD/CAM integrated technology is a development method combining product design with product processing, which can complete the three-dimensional modeling, engineering analysis, tool path planning and post processing and other related functions, and has been widely used. However, the post processing function is less applied in the five axis machining center, because the postprocessor of the five axis machining center needs to be purchased from the machine tool manufa cturers or developed separately, and does not have generality. With the application of the five axis machining center is more and more wide, the attention of the dedicated postprocessor is also gradually increased in order to ensure the processing quality and improve the processing efficiency. This paper analyses the basic classification of the five axis machining center, and studies the development o f the post processor of the non-orthogonal five axis machining center and turning-milling machining center.First of all, the structure of the five axis machine tool is summarized, and the machine model is established for the development of the post processor. According to the structural characteristics of the machining center, the kinematics of the machine tool is solved, and the corresponding post processing algorithm is deduced. This paper analyzes the nonlinear error in the five axis machining and establishes the model to solve it, and puts forward the control method of the numerical control program.Then, the structure of the machine and the function the controller of the nonorthogonal machining center and the turning-milling machining center are studied in depth, and the design scheme of the postprocessor o f the two machining centers is presented. According to different motion forms in the five axis machining, the different output algorithms of post processing are designed, and the tool path planning and program design are mainly discussed. According to the unreasonable phenomenon of the feed rate, the feed rate of the NC program is optimized based on the constant material removal rate, which improves the processing efficiency.Finally, the postprocessor of the non-orthogonal machining center and the turning-milling machining center is developed, and respectively generates the numerical control program for typical sample to test the post processor. Firstly, this paper uses Vericut simulation software tools to test the numerical control program to improve the post-processor, and then carries on the processing experiment. The verification results show that the developed postprocessor can generate the correct and reliable numerical control machining program.
