With the global shortage of water resource further intensified,the direct air-cooledunithas been rapid development because of significant water-saving effect,especially inthe north of China.However, the wind has a powerful influence on the heat transferefficiency of air-cooled condenser,especially in the summer wind conditions,the effect ofheat transfer of air-cooled condenser was unfavorable.So this paper put forward the ideaof installing the windproof net or windbreak around the air-cooled island to improve thewind effects on direct air-cooled island.Take one600MW direct air-cooled unit as an example,establish the geometricmodel and grid with Gambit software,simulate the air field around the direct air-cooledisland with Fluent software,analysis the effect of wind on the heat exchange efficiency ofthe air-cooled condenser. In the case of installing the windproof net around the air-cooledisland,the external flow field of air-cooled island under different wind speed in thedominant wind direction was simulated.Analysis the effect of the windproof net withdifferent structure and different opening rate on the external flow field、temperature fieldand heat transfer efficiency of air-cooled island.Find a best installation of windproof netthrough comprehensive consideration of heat transfer efficiency of air-cooled condenserunder different. In the case of installing the windbreak in the leeward side of air-cooledisland(in the dominant wind direction),the external flow field and temperature field in thedominant wind direction and opposite direction of dominant wind.Analysis the effect ofthe windbreak on the heat transfer efficiency of air-cooled island. In order to solve theadverse effects on heat transfer efficiency of air-cooled condenser in the oppositedirection of dominant wind,optimize the structure of windbreak and prove its feasibilityaccording to simulation.
