The need of market is not largely met by the intrinsic Chinese pumpkin. Introducting, investigating, screening and innovating pumpkin germplam from abroad and home, and the varieties are bred. At the same time technical specification of powdery mildewand virus disease control are formulated. The results as follows:1. Introducting, investigating and purifying pumpkin germplam, screening out 44 stable value.inbred lines. Which are including 23 edible pumpkins and 21 ornamantal cucurbita;2. 14 new ornamantal Cucurbita varieties are bred, which according withbreeding objectives and requirements. The new hybrid varieties have obvious advantages. The performance for the vigorous growth, disease resistance,Continuous bearing capacity and ornamental is so good;3. 2 new edible pumpkins varieties are bred, which having high yield,good quality, high disease resistance. Both of the varieties are increased by 10% in the trial;4. The technical specification of powdery mildewand virus disease control is formulated.
