Study Of Chemical Constituents And Active Ingredient Of Morus Alba L.

The twig of Morus alba L. is dry from mulberry twig.Late spring and early summer harvest,leaves removed and then dried it. The main effect M. alba of the lifting of rheumatoid pain and beneficial to the joints and so on.In this research, M. alba was extracted by 95% MeOH, and then was suspended in water and successively partitioned and extracted with petroleum ether, ethyl acetate and n-butanol. The three extracts were separated by different chromatographic methods (such as Silica gel column, YMC-gel, Sephadex LH-20, ate). Nine structures were identified as moracin M (1), moracin B (2), steppogenin (3), scopoletin (4), scopolin (5), hydroxyresveratrol (6), cudraflavone B (7),6-geranylapigenin (8),β-sitosterol (9). Compounds 3 and 4 are repouted from plants of M. alba for the first time.In this study, M. alba was extracted and isolated with seperation of chinese medici- ne looking for active compound. The study will lay the foundation for research and application of Mulberry.
