Itching Powder On Clinical Observation Of Chronic Eczema And Skin Barrier Function

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of Skin Itching Powder on chroniceczema; to learn about the powder’s effect on skin barrier function by testing the TEWLvalue changes before and after treatment.Methods: This thesis will include67cases of chronic eczema which are randomlygrouped by a1:1ratio to carry out clinical test. The first group (treatment group) comprises35cases, taking Ebastine Tablets orally, Skin Itching Powder for external use, plus“Binghuang fu le gao”, the drug wrapped in plastic, for external use.The second group(comparison group) includes32cases, taking Ebastine Tablets orally and “Bing huang fu legao”,the drug wrapped in plastic, for external use,two periods of treatment are needed forobservation with one period lasts for4weeks. During the whole process, the symptom score,treatment effect,relapse, adverse reactions and TEWL value changes before and aftertreatment will be observed for both groups.Result:8weeks’ clinical treatment suggests that overall response rate(ORR) oftreatment group is94.28%and that of comparison group is68.75%. The difference as shownhas statistical significance(P<0.05). The markedly effective rate for both groups are68.57%and31.25%respectively. Comparison shows, χ2=4.163， P=0.041<0.05，the difference hasstatistical significance. the symptom score of treatment group before treatment is12.11±1.67,TEWL value is35.86±10.40before treatment.the symptom score of treatment group aftertreatment is1.08±0.98,TEWL value is12.85±6.75after treatment. The comparison before and after treatment has a statistical significance(P<0.05). Comparing treatment group andcomparison group, treatment group can evidently better the clinical symptoms of chroniceczema and lower the value of TEWL. The relapse rate of treatment group is lower thancomparison group. Skin Itching Powder can effectively reduce the value of TEWL. Themedicine of treatment group can better the barrier function of skin while the medicine ofcomparison group has no clear effect in this aspect.Conclusion: Skin itching powder can dramatically reduce TEWL value, better thebarrier function of skin. It has obvious treatment effect on chronic eczema, and certainadvantages in controlling the relapse of chronic eczema, with a low rate of adverse reactions.
