| Objective:To explore the association between the preoperative systemic inflammatory index and pathologic TNM stage and grade in patients with urethral carcinoma. Methods:The clinical records of78patients treated surgically for ureteral carcinoma were analyzed retrospectively. An elevated neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio(NLR) was defined as>2.5:1,platelet to lymphocyte ratio(PLR) was>150:1and lower serum albumin level was<37g/L.Results:The NLR>2.5:1were17.65%,36.84%,47.06%and73.91%(P=0.005), and the PLR>150:1were5.58%,36.84%,52.96%and56.52%(P=0.009) in the stages of T1〠T2(a)ã€T2(b) and T3in ureteral carcinoma, respectively. The albumin<37g/L were35.29%,42.1%and60.87%in T1ã€T2and T3stages; the NLR more than2.5were32.5%and60%,PLR more than150were22.5%(P=0.008) and50.0%(P=0.010) in high and low pathologic grades, respectively. Conclusions:The preoperative NLR,PLR and albumin were significantly associated with the pathologic TNM stages and grades in patients with ureteral carcinoma. The model based on the systemic inflammatory index and pathologic factors can be useful in clinical practice. |
