| Objective:It has always been a focus of academic debate whether the theory of traditional Chinese medicine is science-proof, and it has affected academic development of TCM in major medical profession at home and abroad. Thus, to verify the scientific characters of basic theory of TCM becomes more and more urgent. Based on theoretical needs and clinical practices, a study on detection on values of main and collateral channels in patients with chronic urticaria at episode or remission stage was innovatively carried out through setting healthy contrast group with bio-resonance technique. The detection results were analyzed to confirm consistence with the traditional Chinese viewpoints such as "the lung presides fur" and "Yin and Yang is opposite", as well as the guiding position of clinical treatment based on changes of meridians. Meanwhile, this subject is expected to explore a new modern scientific method for research on basic theory of TCM.Methods:Germany MORA-Super bio-resonance apparatus, a essential equipment in dermatology department of large-scale hospitals of TCM required by the state administration of TCM, was involved in the research.60patients with chronic urticaria (30at onset stage and30at remission stage) and30healthy volunteers were selected to receive detection of the lung meridian on Shaoshang point, the large intestine meridian on Shangyang point and the heart meridian on Shaochong point under the fixed EAP-PC program, respectively. All the meridian values were recorded and analyzed to compare difference between each group as well as consistence with theory of syndrome differentiation with Zang-Fu and meridians.Results:1. Comparison on detection values of the lung meridian, the large intestine meridian and the heart meridian between patients at episode stage and healthy volunteers is53.60vs49.30,47.33vs49.63and49.87vs50.68. Difference between the above three groups is of extinguishing significance (p<0.01), of significance (p<0.05) and of no significance (p>0.05),respectively. 2. Comparison on detection values of the lung meridian, the large intestine meridian and the heart meridian between patients at remission stage and healthy volunteers is46.97vs49.30,47.03vs49.63and50.70vs50.68. Difference between the above three groups is of extinguishing significance (p<0.01), of extinguishing significance (p<0.01) and of no significance (p>0.05), respectively.3. Comparison on detection values of the lung meridian, the large intestine meridian and the heart meridian between patients at episode stage and patients at remission stage is53.60vs46.97,47.33vs47.03and49.87vs50.70. Difference between the" above three groups is of extinguishing significance (p<0.01), of no significance (p>0.05) and of no significance (p>0.05), respectively.4. Difference of detection values between the lung meridian and the large intestine meridian in healthy volunteers is of no significance (p=0.688),and the correlation coefficient is0.181and of no relation (p=0.337);difference in patients at episode stage is of extinguishing significance (p=0.001),and the correlation coefficient is0.049and of no relation (p=0.797);difference in patients at remission stage is of no significance (p=0.888),and the correlation coefficient is0.119and of no relation (p=0.531)Conclusions:1. The course of chronic urticaria relates closely with "lung" and "large intestine", and no obvious relationship with "heart". This embodies the scientific nature of theory of TCM which believes that lung governs fur, and clinical treatment principle dispersing wind and dissipating evil at episode stage while replenishing Qi and strengthening skin at remission stage.2. Regardless of healthy people or patients with chronic urticaria, the exterior-interior attribute of "lung" and "large intestine" showed no direct relationship in physiology and pathology in physiology and pathology.3. The data demonstrates the opposite relationship of Yin and Yang from exterior-interior, urgent-wild and short-long objectively and concretely.4. Bio-resonance technology is feasible to be used for research on basic theory of TCM and expected to show a new angle of view in modern research. |
