The British collection of Dunhuang manuscripts of Chinese medicine are an important part of Dunhuang documents. They were coped before Tang or Five dynasties with high values and rich contents on the basic theory of TCM, diagnosis, prescription, herbal medicine, acupuncture and moxibustion, etc., where multiple literature are not included in later generation’s books. Chinese characters are the cornerstone of literature, and correctly recognize are very important towards the research related.The British collection of Dunhuang manuscripts of Chinese medicine are handwritten running script with a small amount cursive script version, for this reason, a lot difficult understanding characters were appeared. Many researches and papers focused on these literatures, however, referring to word distinguishing, there are still a lot of work to do. This paper used Check and interpretation of Dunhuang ancient medical books, Edition and proofreading of Dunhuang medical literature, Comprehensive volume of Dunhuang Chinese Medicine, Revision and demonstration of Dunhuang ancient medical books, Shadowgraphs, notes and commentaries of British collected Dunhuang medical literature as the references, and collated them with the photoes of original. So mistaken and missing emendation materials were found out as the research objects, which were researched by the philology, critical interpretation of ancient texts, collation study, and medicine knowledges, therefore some problems of text recognitions could be solved, and some errors in exisiting reacheh could be corrected. In addition, the paper also sorted out the medical prescriptions in British collection of Dunhuang manuscripts of Chinese medicine, so the profile of these medical prescriptions was demonstrated.
