| Studies on the secondary metabolites of two kinds of lichen plants were performed which beglong to the Parmeliaceae family and the Lobariaceae family respectively. Lichens have been used as ingredients in folk medicines for centuries and many cultures. Lichens usually been used to treat a variety of ailments as part of their traditional medicines. Recent advances in the medical field show that some lichen chemicals possiblly can provide a promising source of future drug therapies. In the present study, two kinds of lichen plants were used as experimental materials, and the chemical constituents and antitumor activities were investigated. The aims were to find some lead compounds which have better antitumor activity. The paper can be divided into the following four parts:Part â… :The systematic review of monomer compounds with antitumor activity in the lichen plants.Part â…¡:The study on chemical constituents of one kind of Parmelia Ach. 14 compounds were isolated using all kinds of separation methods including Sephadex LH-20, silica gel and ODS chromatographies. The structures were identified through UV, MS,1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, as follows:ethly haematommate〠ethyl chlorohematommateã€2,3-methyl-5-methoxy-1,4-phenolã€baeomycesic acid〠atranoriã€methyl orsellinateã€atranolã€pannarinã€lecanoric acidã€Orsellinic acid and ethyl orsellinate.Part â…¢:In the same way,12 compounds were obtained from Lobaria kurokawae Yoshim, as follows:salazinic acidã€ergosterol-5,8-peroxideã€evernic acid〠ethyl orsellinateã€retigeric acid Bã€retigeric acid Aã€gyrophoric acid.Part â…£:To study the effects of ten kinds lichen compounds on the proliferation of four cells by MTT assay. The results showed ten compounds except baeomycesi cacidã€atranorinã€methyl orsellinate were cytotoxic on NCI-H292 cell lines; methyl orsellinate and lecanoric acid have obvious cytotoxic activity on EC109. |
