Purpose: To analyze the clinical and endoscopic features of colorectal polyps, thereby summarizing the clinical and endoscopic characteristics,so as to provide a basis for the clinical diagnosis and treatment. Methods: 235 cases of colorectal polyps were collected in the First Affiliated Hospital of Suzhou University from March, 2014 to December, 2014, found by colonoscopy and confirmed by pathology. These subjects were divided into two groups: colorectal adenomatous polyp group and non-adenomatous polyp group, then a comparison for their clinical and endoscopic features were made. Results: 4289 patients underwent colonoscopy in the First Affiliated Hospital of Suzhou University from March, 2014 to December, 2014. Among those there were 235 cases of colorectal polyps, including 141 cases of colorectal polyps and 124 cases of non-adenomatous polyps. The total number of colorectal polyps is 399,including 253 adenomatous polyps and 146 non-adenomatous polyps. There were 143 men and 92 women in the whole group. The youngest was 25 years old and the oldest was 93 years old.Young people(less than 40 years old) accounted for 13.62%, the middle-aged(40~60 years old) accounted for 33.19% and the elderly(over 60 years old) accounted for 53.19%.The most common clinical symptom was hematochezia, followed by abdominal pain and diarrhea, accounting for 45.11%, 34.89% and 23.83% respectively. Most colorectal polyps were single. The number of cases whose polyps locate in the left colon, the right colon and the whole colon is 168,41 and 26 respectively. The number of polyps with diameter less than 1cm,arranging from 1cm to 2cm and over 2cm is 223,114 and 62 respectively;with pedunculated, subpedunculated and sessile fundus is 58,134 and 207 respectively;with phyllode and normal appearance is 58 and 341 respectively; with hyperaemia erosion and normal surface character is 167 and 232 respectively. The number of cases with dysplasiaand malignant transformation is 49 and 4 respectively.Adenomatous polyps and non-adenomatous polyps had no statistical difference(P> 0.05) in gender, body mass index(BMI), polyp’s locations of distribution and the shape of fundus. While there was statistical difference(P<0.05) in age, size, appearance(phyllode or not), surface character(hyperaemia erosion or not), dysplasia and malignant transformation, history of diabetes, hyperlipidemia, colorectal adenomas or cancer among the two groups.Conclusions:1.The elderly, male, symptoms of hematochezia and abdominal pain were considered as the warning signals of colorectal polyps. 2.The elderly, with the history of diabetes, hyperlipidemia, colorectal adenomas or cancer, polyps with phyllode appearance, hyperaemia erosion as well as dysplasia and canceration are susceptible to adenomatous polyps.
