bjective To evaluate the expression of EphA2in meningiomasin order to investigate its in meningiomas, Tumor grade and peritumoraledema. Methods①A total of60cases of meningioma specimens aretaken from Luzhou Medical College Hospital Neurosurgery resectedpathological specimens in recent years. Selected cases were cases ofprimary initial surgery, preoperative medication and did not undergoradiation therapy, pathological specimens each meningioma and clinicaldata (including image data) are complete. The control group were25cases of normal arachnoid tissue, were taken from the acute traumaunderwent decompression surgery patients.②Specimens were dividedinto two groups according to WHO on the pathological grading standards2007.③All the control group specimens were frozen, in12hours afterthe separation of human internal fixation treatment.④Meningioma andnormal meningeal tissue immunohistochemical streptavidin-biotin-peroxidase links (streptavidin-perosidase SP) staining treatment, detection expression of EphA2.⑤Observe and record the results.Results①EphA2expression in normal meninges:17cases were negative,8caseswere positive;in meningioma tissues:12cases were negative,48caseswere positive, having the statistical differences (2=18.089,P=0.000<0.05).②There are10cases of negative、41cases of positive expressioned in gradeⅠmeningiomas tissues;and there are7cases ofpositive expressioned in gradeⅡmeningiomas tissues,2cases of negative. There are not statistically significant differences between the two(2=0.033,P=0.58>0.05).③Grade I meningioma associated withperitumoral edema are21cases, edema rate is41.2%;GradeⅡmeningioma associated with peritumoral edema are8cases,edema rate is88.9%. Significant differencec(2=6.974,P=0.01<0.05).④There is not a certain relationship between the positive expressionrate(the number of positive cases and strong positive cases and thenumber of accounts for the total proportion of meningioma specimens) ofEphA2and peritumoral edema in meningioma(2=1.352,P=0.201>0.05); Conclusion①Expression rate of EphA2in meningiomas tissueswas significantly higher than that in normal brain tissue, that overexpression of EphA2may be involved in the speculation of meningioma.②Grade Ⅰ and Ⅱ meningioma tissue EphA2expression was nosignificant difference in the rate, failed to prove the existence of EphA2overexpression correlated with meningioma grading.③Grade Imeningioma peritumoral edema rate less than grade II meningiomaperitumoral edema rate.④We can not prove that the positive expressionof EphA2and peritumoral edema have some relevance.
