Objective:To research the bone changes after GBR technique in inserting implants in the maxillary aesthetic zone based on cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) images. Methods:CBCT images from25patients were selected from the Affiliated Stomatology Hospital of Zhejiang University. The thickness of the labial bone wall was measured perpendicular to the long axis of the implant at five locations:lmm,4mm,7mm,10mm,14mm apical to the neck of the implant. Results:The thickness of the alveolar bone increased significantly with surgery. The thickness of the labial bone walls was mainly found between2and4mm4-6months later. The decrement (compared with postoperation) at pointl-4was0.8±0.6mm、0.6±0.5mm,0.4±0.4mm and0.5±0.4mm.Conclusion:The thickness of the labial bone walls of implant reduced4-6months later without influencing the aesthetic effect.
