Spleenand stomach serve as root of life, which govern transporting water and food,and transforming qi and blood for the human body. They are also pivot ofqi-ascending and qi-descending. Coordination of qi-ascending and qi-descendingfacilitates distribution of refined substance to various zang-fu organs as wellas joints and tissues.2.Spleen and stomach are fairly important in five-zang and six-fu organs.Imbalanced diets, overstrain, emotional problems and dampness are consideredto be the most vital factors leading to spleen-stomach disorders. The twophysiological function of spleen failed to develop simultaneously.In Jin and Yuan Dynasty, practitioners objectively summarized the developregularity of spleen-stomach doctrine based on overall succession. Theircomplements to spleen-stomach doctrine set foundation for perfection of lateraccomplishments theoretically and clinically.
