Background:Statins reduce the risk of ischemic stroke by reducing LDL-C.The most widely used and intensive statins are atorvastatin and rosuvastatin, hower, the effects of atorvastatin and rosuvastatin are currently lacked. Objective:To compare the effects of atorvastatin and rosuvastatin on lipid in patients with ischemic stroke.Methods:240 patients with acute ischemic stroke from February 2014 to January 2015 in the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University were enrolled, patients were ramdomly categorized into 20mg atorvastatin 1st week group,20mg atorvastatin 2nd week group,20mg atorvastatin 4th week group,40mg atorvastatin 1st week group,40mg atorvastatin 2nd week group,40mg atorvastatin 4th week group, 10mg rosuvastatin 1st week group,10mg rosuvastatin 2nd week group,10mg rosuvastatin 4th week group,20mg rosuvastatin 1st week group,20mg rosuvastatin 2nd week group and 20mg rosuvastatin 4th week group, each group contains 20 cases. Statins were taken once every night at bed-time.The serum lipid(TC,TG,HDL-C and LDL-C)were examined before and after treatment. Results:In comparison with baseline lipid levels, the levels of TC,LDL-C decreased after treatment in each group(P<0.01),the level of TG decreased after 4-week treatment in 40mg atorvastatin(P<0.05), it decreased after 1-week,2-week and 4-week treatment in 10mg rosuvastatin(P<0.05),and it decreased after 1-week and 4-week treatment in 20mg rosuvastatin(P<0.05).The level of LDL-C decreased after 2-week treatment in 20mg rosuvastatin than that in 20mg atorvastatin(45.18% versus 34.03%,P<0.01) and 10mg rosuvastatin(45.18% versus 37.26%,P<0.05),the levels of TC,LDL-C decreased afrer 4-week treatment in 20mg rosuvastatin than that in 20mg atorvastatin(33.87% versus 25.63%,P<0.01 for TC;50.88% versus 39.78%,P<0.01 for LDL-C).After 1-week treatment, percentage of patients achieving LDL-C goal in 20mg atorvastatin,40mg atorvastatin,10mg rosuvastatin and 20mg rosuvastatin is 20%,30%,35%,45% separately. After 2-week treatment, percentage of patients achieving LDL-C goal is 30%,50%,55%,65% separately. After 4-week treatment, percentage of patients achieving LDL-C goal is 50%,70%,65%,85% separately. Conclusions:Atorvastatin and rosuvastatin can reduce the levels of TC,LDL-C,rosuvastatin can reduce LDL-C level;Prolong the treatment durations and increase dosage can improve the effects of treatment.
