| Purpose:1. To discuss the thinking and method of inheriting and developing relevant theories on spleen and stomach from Nei Jing by Dongyuan Li.2. To explore the concepts and theories hidden or worth further research in the "concept on spleen and stomach in Nei Jing".3. To study the theories and concepts to be restudied or further studied in Theory of Spleen-Stomach.Method:1. Materials were separately sorted out for spleen and stomach in terms of physiological structure, physiological function, disease cause, diagnosis, relevant diseases and meridians and collaterals; then spleen and stomach were taken as one system to sort out materials on the relationship between spleen and stomach, the therapies of spleen and stomach diseases and the health preservation for spleen and stomach.2. The whole text and major arguments of Theory of Spleen-Stomach were then sorted out in details and a further analysis was conducted on the life of Li Dongyuan, his motives in writing the book and major content of the book in combination with the ancient and modern literature.3. The quotations of articles from Nei Jing by On Spleen and Stomach were sorted out and analyzed and the "concept on spleen and stomach in Nei Jing" and Theory of Spleen-Stomach were then systematically compared in terms of physiology, pathology and diagnosis and treatment based on the above results of literature combing on the two. For every part, the analysis was conducted from the three major perspectives of inheriting "the concept on spleen and stomach in Nei Jing" by Theory of Spleen-Stomach, developing the "concept on spleen and stomach in Nei Jing" by Theory of Spleen-Stomach and the "concept on spleen and stomach in Nei Jing" not mentioned by Theory of Spleen-Stomach.4. Does the major cause of catching and developing diseases mainly come from inside or outside of the body? What is the major pathogenesis for catching and developing diseases? After patients catch and develop diseases, how can doctors address both the symptoms and root causes, in particular the root causes?
