Objective: 1. To study plasma MMP-9 level difference between Han and Uyghur nationality patients with acute coronary syndrome in Xinjiang. 2. To study plasma MMP-9 level difference between STEMI and UAP, NSTEMI patients with acute coronary syndrome in Xinjiang Han and Uyghur nationality. Methods: A total of 483 ACS patients(Uyghur: 218 cases, Han: 265 cases) hospitalized from April 2014 to April 2015 were selected in cardiovascular medicine of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region People’s Hospital. 265 cases of Han were divided into unstable angina pectoris(UAP) group 112 cases, acute ST elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI) group 102 cases and acute non-ST elevation myocardial infarction(NSTEMI) group 51 cases according to ACS types; 218 cases of Uyghur were divided into unstable angina pectoris(UAP) group 103 cases, acute ST elevation myocardial infarction(STEMI) group 83 cases and acute non-ST elevation myocardial infarction(NSTEMI) group 32 cases according to ACS types. All of the patients received coronary angiography and their clinical information and matrix metalloproteinases-9(MMP-9) were collected, compared and analyzed by SPSS 18.0, with P<0.05 as significant difference. Results:(1)There were no statistically significant difference between Han nationality ACS patients and Uyghur nationality ACS patients in clinical information(P>0.05);(2)There were no statistically significant difference between Han nationality ACS patients and Uyghur nationality ACS patients in MMP-9 level(P>0.05);(3) There were no statistically significant difference between the somatotyples(P>0.05);(4)The MMP-9 of STEMI were more higher with statistically significant difference in Han nationality ACS patients(P<0.05);(5)The MMP-9 of STEMI were more higher with statistically significant difference in Uyghur nationality ACS patients(P<0.05). Conclusion: There were no statistically significant difference between Han nationality ACS patients and Uyghur nationality ACS patients in MMP-9 level. Compared with UAP group and NSTEMI group, there were significant rise in MMP-9 level in STEMI group.
