ObjectiveThis study evaluate the effect of moxa cone moxibustion on lung’s shu and mu acupoints for the treatment of allergic rhinitis of lung deficiency related cold type by the method of single-blind randomized control. After this study, We can popularize the application of shu-mu Acupuncture and provide new idea for the treatment of allergic rhinitis of lung deficiency related cold type.MethodsThis study selected 70 qualified patients during 2015.01-2015.12, divide whom into a experimental group and control group with 35 patients in ratio of 1:1 by means of random number table.Experimental group:moxa cone moxibustion on lung’s shu and mu acupoints,3 cones each time,3 times a week for 2 weeks. Control group:oral loratadine 1 pill(10mg) everyday for 2 weeks The signs and symptoms scale, RQLQ, TNSS, TNNSS are all evaluated before and at the end of the treatment, and at the end of 1 month after the treatment course had finished.ResultsResults show that both groups had short-term effective on allergic rhinitis of lung deficiency related cold type(P<0.05), the experimental group has better effect on sneezing and rhinorrhea while the control group has better effect on rhinobyon and rhinocnesmus(P<0.05), other scores had no significant difference(P<0.05). The short-term total effective rate had no significant difference (P>0.05).Both groups had long-term effective on allergic rhinitis of lung deficiency related cold type(P<0.05), and the experimental group has better effect on it(P<0.05).The experimental group still has better effect on sneezing, rhinorrhea and the total score, while control group still has better effect on and rhinocnesmus(P<0.05), other scores had no significant difference(P>0.05). The long-term total effective rate had no significant difference(P>0.05).Both groups had short and long-term effective on reducing RQLQ、TNSS、 TNNSS score (P<0.05).The experimental group has better effect on the short-term RQLR, while others had no significant difference between 2 groups (P>0. 05).ConclusionAll told, moxa cone moxibustion on lung’s shu and mu acupoints have better effect on sneezing, rhinorrhea and the total score while oral loratadine have better effect on rhinocnesmus of lung deficiency related cold type. Their short-term effect difference are not statistically significant while moxa cone moxibustion on lung’s shu and mu acupoints have better effect on long-term effect.
