Objective To study the relationship between plasmatic oxidized low density lipoprotein and neurological function deficits in patients with acute ischemic stroke in Xining area. To provide evidence for the condition judgement, estimation of prognosis and risk forecasting of acute cerebral infarction. Methods we collected and sorted 120 cases of Chinese Han Patients with acute ischemic stroke in the neurology department of Qinghai Provincial People’s hospital from March 2013 to March 2014. According to the nerve function defect score(NIHSS score) of the National Institutes of health in the United States, patients were divided into three groups: ≤4 points is mild group,> 4 points and ≤25 points is moderate group, > 25 points is severe groups. There were 58 cases with an average age 62.21 years old in mild group; There were 43 cases with an average age 63.41 years old in moderate group; There were 19 cases with an average age 60.68 years old in severe group. Plasma oxidized low density lipoprotein level was detected by ELISA method. The correlation between OXLDL and the degree of neurological deficits was studied by using single factor analysis of variance and Pearson correlation analysis. According to the size of MRI infarction area and the Admas classification method, the patients could be divided into two groups. The correlation between OXLDL and the size of MRI infarction area was studied by using single factor analysis of variance and Pearson correlation analysis. Results 1.Clinical basic data is no difference in the mild、moderate and severe neurological function deficit group(P>0.05).2.The oxidized low density lipoprotein level is significant difference(p<0.05) between mild、moderate and severe group. 3. Pearson correlation analysis showed that,OXLDL level have positive correlation with neurological function deficit(r=0.474,P<0.05)4. there is significant difference(p<0.05) in oxidized low density lipoprotein level between different area of cerebral infarction.5. Pearson correlation analysis showed that,OXLDL level have positive correlation with the area of cerebral infarction(r=0.647,P<0.05)Conclusions The degree of neurological function deficit in acute ischemic stroke patients in Xining area is positively correlated with the level of oxidized low density lipoprotein, and with the area of cerebral infarction. This reveals that OXLDL is one of the reason of cerebral infarction which has clinical significance in evaluating the condition and prognosis in acute cerebral infarction patients.
