Minority education has long been much attention,Muslim education morecomplete preservation of its traditional culture of Islam,but also by academic attention.From the history of southern Ningxia is ethnic enclaves, to the modern times, it isoccupied most of the Hui, Hui people here, on the one hand, to inherit and carry outtheir religious education by the Church education, on the other hand, and in order toimprove the nation acceptance of cultural quality of national education, and thereforehave a more obvious typical sense. Therefore, the study of Ningxia southern mountainprocess of modernization of education for ethnic minority areas to provide examplesof educational research, provide a certain significance in theory, help to better carryout and implement education in minority areas.In this paper, drawing on the results of previous studies, the extensive use offirst-hand information, attempting to modern education in southern mountainous areasof Ningxia comprehensive study discusses mainly divided into four parts:The first chapter, the social status of the southern mountains of Modern Ningxia.Since the late Qing Hui uprising, the Qing government to strengthen the managementof the Hui, a strong move to the southern mountainous area of many Ningxia Hui,isolated place for them to form a new pattern back to the Han ethnic distribution.The second chapter, educational status Ningxia southern mountain before the endof the Qing. Late Qing Dynasty before, this region do have official school and privateschool, as the main form of education in which the county ’s county school, college,free schools, community schools and private schools are for the imperial service, Inaddition, the Muslim Mosque Muslim education as the main form of education, andits main function is to give the public popularity of the general Muslim religiousknowledge and religious culture of Islam.As a Muslim settlements in southern Ningxia, into the school to learn far lessthan people who enter the mosque.Chapter III,produced and initial development of modern education in southernNingxia. Discusses the traditional teaching methods Ningxia southern mountainmodern teaching methods to change,and the change in the education policy,management and education courses.The fourth chapter, the further development of education in the southernmountainous area of Ningxia Republic of China. During this period, not only in thesouthern mountainous area of Ningxia and the popularization of the nationaleducation, as part of the border areas, border education policy is gradually tilted overto the same period of exceptional achieve equitable development of all ethniceducation. However, the correct formulation of education policy can not represent itssmooth implementation, due to extremely limited funding for education, universalnational education policy is far from reaching its intended purpose.Throughout the history of education in southern Ningxia mountains, mainlyschoolchildren mainly basic education, secondary and higher education is extremelysmall number of people, thus resulting in southern Ningxia modern education lags farbehind other parts of the country.
