An Analysis On The Expressing Negation Structrue Of "You Shenme Hao X De" And Correlation Research

Now grammar scholars generally accept there are connections between thescopes of question and negation. But what are the connections? And how do theyconnect with each other? As for these questions，there is still no in-depht study.Through the small clue, we meticulously investigate and analyze how can thestructure of "you shenme hao X de" expresses negation, which emerges in specificinterrogation. And we comprehensively investigate the correspondent structure of"mei(you) shenme hao X de’，，which also expresses negation but emerges indeclarative sentence. Then based on these structures, we compare the similarities anddifferences between the two structures. We hope our research has some benefits forthese questions as how can the interrogatic system express negation, and what are thedifferences between the questions about negation and general negation.The first chapter is the introduction which mainly introduces the significance ofthe topic, previous studies，methods, and corpus sources，etc.The second chapter, we detailly investigate the structure of "you shenme hao Xde" which express negation. Firstly, we delimit the object of study. Then we analyzethe internal components and syntactic level of this structure. Furthermore, we analyzethis structu’res syntactic and semantic features. Finally, we investigate this structure’s pragmatic function, using condition and specific using context.The third chapter, ifrstly we investigate the producing process of how thestructure of "you shenme hao X d，’e expresses negation. Its negation is theconversational implication which produced by violating Quality Maxim ofcooperative principle. Atfer analogy and repeated use, the implication becomes theinherent meaning of this structure. Secondly, we investigate the producingmechanisms of how this structure expresses negation, which include semantic,、n，and pragmatical mechanisms.1he fourth chapter, we meticulously investigat“e the structure of mei(you)shenme hao X de" which expresses negation. Firstly, we delimit the object of study.Actually, this structure is two different syntactic level structures overlap in the surfaceform. Then we successively investigate th’e two different structures syntactic function,semantic efature，pragmatic function, using condition, and specific using context.The fifth chapter, based on the former research and discussion, we compare thedifferences of the two structures “you shenme hao X de” and "mei(you) shenme haoX de", which both express negation. These two structures have differences in thefollowing five aspects: the dependency of context，syntactic function, pragmatic value,the location of negation scope and focus, the function of interrogative pronoun"shenme".The sixth chapter is the conclusion， which concludes the main opinions andaccount some questions which need further discussion.
