Simultaneous interpreting has an extreme requirement of interpreter quality aswell as academic rigor and specialty. It needs large amount of site and stimulating interpreting practice to improvesimultaneous interpreting skills and enhance interpreter quality. To do so, the reportcomes into its current shape under the background of a simulated conference FutureBetter International, organized by Foreign Studies, and from the view of an interpreter aswell. The author uses conference simultaneous interpreting as study subject, to discusscoping strategy, difficulty and shortages by comparing site interpreting material withmodified ones and seeking for problem solving measures as future study guidance. Theapproach to the above discussion centers on interpreting theory in internationalconference simultaneous interpreting, and provides effective methods and skills forreference in future. The report analyzes the conference simultaneous interpreting by means of casestudy. There are five parts. The first part is task introduction, which lands on the taskbackground, topic significance, material features, etc.The second part shows the whole process of the simulated conference starting frompreparation to the midway of seminar, including pre-meeting preparation and meetingconducting. The third part is case study, discussing the key point from the angle of speech textsand interpreter quality, difficulty analysis in the interpreting practice and final solutions. The forth part is practice summary. This part draws lessons from the simulatedinterpreting practice, improves the shortcomings, acknowledges strategy implementingscale as well as limitation, and lays a solid foundation for the future interpreting practiceand career take-off.The fifth part is appendix, demonstrates the speech texts and relevant translatingmaterials. |
