The layout adjustment of rural schools, which lasted more than ten years, has achieved the expected results. At the same time, it brings us some side effects as well due to various reasons. As a result of the implementation of the policy about rural school merging, the history of having schools in every village reaches its close. Some regions even have only one rural school in the downtown. However, as one of the few even only cultural centers in rural areas, the merging of rural schools always means the slump of its cultural upland. Against the background of new rural construction, exploring a new way of rural cultural construction becomes a matter of urgency.This paper focuses on the rural cultural state quo after the merging of schools. With the help surveys and interviews, we find that merging of rural schools has a tremendous side effect on rural cultural construction, mainly on the aspects of the main body of rural culture, the the leader of the rural culture flee from the rural area, abnormality of rural cultural life and the traditional rural interpersonal relationship.Rural culture construction is facing severe challenges due to the disappearance of the rural school. To launch the rehabilitation and reconstruction educational units appropriately in remote areas, build School-Country Community, foster culture endogenous mechanism, rebuild village school teacher’s publicity, develop local courses and improve the quality of leisure to build new farmers. At the end of this paper, we we will propose some suggestions and tactics on rural cultural construction, hoping to tide over the rural cultural crisis.
