Mr. Tai Jingnong is an important writer in the1920s. His native novels helped him established his status in the history of modern literature. There are a lot of excellent works in the story collection " son of the earth ", like the" wedding ceremony"、" red light"、" the earthworms"、." the injured"、" Old Daddy Wu" and so on. These are all important harvest in the first decade of the Chinese new literature.His native works have strong folksy, using the people and stories in his hometown as writing materials, working carefully and writing down the misery and sadness of the man’s world. He moved the survival and death of the countryside, the smell of earth on the paper, showing the rich content and wretched tragedy of the hometown with the brief brushwork. These show his unique personality. Therefore, this thesis try to make Tai Jingnong’s native novels as the research object, according to the story collection " son of the earth ", study the ideological content and artistic features of his native novels, and do a comprehensive and in-depth analysis for his native novels.Thesis includes three parts altogether, described briefly as follows:The first part:introduction. To explain briefly about the research purpose and the meaning of the subject, the present situation of domestic and overseas research, and the innovation points of this thesis.The second part:the main body. This part includes three chapters, the first chapter, combing the main content of the tragedy in Tai Jingnong’s native novels. Illustrating the content, characteristics and meaning of the tragedy that Tai Jingnong wrote. The second chapter, explore the theme and the thought of the native novels. Seize the "native" as it is an important feature in the native novels, from the large number of customs, dialect and pictures that the novels contained showing that Tai Jingnong’s native novels are full of the smell of earth, and explore the profound implication behind the local conditions and customs. Dig deeper into the relationship between the tragedy and the customs from the perspective of culture and environment. The third chapter is from the artistic features. Analyzing the simple but concise technique of Tai Jingnong’s novels through pruning and composition. Showing his excellent writing skills. To explore the importance of the technique to build the tragic connotation in the thesis.The third part:conclusion. Summarizes the whole thesis, and through analysis, illustrating the real intention and complex mood that Tai Jingnong, carefully write the misery and sadness of the man’s world. Savoring the deep affection between him and his hometown.
