A Study On The Grammar Of Pengxi Dialect

Pengxi is located in the east of Sichuan Basin. Pengxi dialect belongs to the dialect ofChuan-Qian area. Most of the study of the academic circle concentrated on the voice andvocabulary to Southwest official language. Grammar books or articles are few, and the grammarstudy of Pengxi dialect is extremely rare. We can only find sporadic narrative in Pengxi County.Due to the strong impact of Mandarin and main dialect, Pengxi is increasingly converging on theMandarin dialect and Chengdu dialect. Compared to the old in Pengxi, the young people whoworked or studied outside for a long time speak significant difference. Thus, to record the oldPengxi dialect is very necessary.In this paper, we put the dialect of Pengxi which is the author’s mother tongue as the study.The main description is about its own grammatical phenomena which is special, and comparingto Chengdu dialect and Mandarin. We strive to fully explore the characteristics of Pengxi dialect.The thesis is divided into nine chapters. The first chapter is an introduction to describe Pengxioverview of human history, status, significance, research methods, survey and Pengxi dialectvoice system. Chapter II to Ⅶ of the morphology is to discuss noun, verb, adjective, pronouns,numerals, quantifiers, and modal of Pengxi dialect. Chapter Ⅷ of syntactic part focuses onspecial sentences of Pengxi dialect. Chapter Ⅸ is to summarize and propose other problems tobe resolved.
