As one of the remarkable representatives of unearthed literature resources, inscriptions provides detailed new historical facts for research on ancient politics, economy and culture, making it one of the focuses of linguistics research and history research.Luoyang, the origin of Heluo Culture had been China’s centre of politics, economy and culture before Song Dynasty. There are plenty of prominent people, such as kings, lords and celebrities buried here. Consequently, the number of unearthed epitaphs is incomparable. Since the foundation of People’s Republic of China, there has been abundant records and research of epitaphs unearthed in Luoyang. However, at present, the research on Yuanyang epitaph from the perspective of linguistics is rare.Yuanyang Epitaph, a laudatory title of ancient couple epitaph, has respective epitaph from the opposite, which is characterized by interaction from each other. Yuanyang has great cultural value as well as significant linguistics value, In that case, the author collects and sorts the Yuanyang epitaphs in this period, and do research on feminine vocabulary in particular.The thesis consists of three parts. The first part is "introduction", which introduces the Yuanyang epitaph materials in Yuanyang Epitaph Compilation Unearthed in Luoyang. It defines the concept and range of Yuanyang epitaph materials and outlines the research status, significance, innovative points and approaches. It is essential to correct the materials before research to guarantee the genuineness of materials, so the second part is about the correction of materials employing the existing materials, especially from the angle of bibliography. The third part is monographic study of vocabulary about feminine culture. In ancient China, feual-patriarchal ideology and Confucianism resulted in that females were inferior to females. However, the abundant feminine epitaphs in Yuanyang Epitaph Compilation Unearthed in Luoyanwill undoubtedly present the realistic cultural scroll. But Yuanyang Epitaph Compilation Unearthed in Luoyang is mainly about epitaphs of people living in Tang Dynasty, which outnumbers epitaphs in Southern and Northern Dynasties, Sui Dynasty, Song Dynasty and Ming Dynasty, which together have about ten epitaphs. As a result, the author chooses feminine expressions in Tang Dynasty as researching target, including expressions aboutmarriages, addresses, daily articles, living places and feminine virtues.
