A Translation Project Report Of Resilience Programming Among Nongovernmental Organizations

This is a translation report based on a translation project of a study report issued by The International Food Policy Research Institute(IFPRI): Resilience Programming among Nongovernmental Organizations. IFPRI’s food policy report provides policy makers with valuable references. In recent decades, its food policy report and analysis made contribution to Chinese food safety policies and became an effective referential resource for Chinese policy makers. This study report reviews resilience processes,activities, outcomes, challenges and opportunities by examining a number of case studies of initiatives by NGOs aiming to enhance resilience capacity, and draw implications for policymakers and other stakeholders looking to strengthen resilience.Thus, this translation project may introduce foreign research achievements about food safety into domestic practice, and provide valuable reference for policy makers.This report includes five chapters: Chapter One is the introduction of this translation project including background information, project significance and project structure. Chapter Two is the text information, including the information of the authors, key points and language features of the original. Chapter Three is difficult points in translating. It will be summarized according to the analysis of its language features. Chapter Four is the translation strategies and case analysis. Translation strategies for solving problems in translating will be presented based on Peter Newmark’s text-type analysis theory and his semantic and communicative translation.Also, the strategies will be explained in detail through a number of examples. Chapter Five is the conclusion of this report, namely, lessons learned from doing this translation project and shortages of it.
