One of the major issues that has drawn the most attention in China and the international community is the development of COVID-19 and its impact.Both at home and abroad,there have been multi-dimensional studies on the causes,treatments and impacts of COVID-19 on the economy and society.Therefore,research on COVID-19 has become one of the hot spots in domestic and foreign research.A variety of new technologies and researches are emerging in China and abroad.To meet the needs of scientific and technological exchanges at home and abroad,the translation of scientific and technological literature on COVID-19 research series is of practical significance.COVID-19: Systemic Risk and Resilience is a collection of essays edited by Benjamin D.Trump and others.It is a scientific and technical text that introduces domestic and international research on COVID-19 responses and their social and economic implications for countries.Through the research on risk management and expected response,scientists can understand the research direction of different countries and the current situation of epidemic response.Under the guidance of Newmark’s communicative translation,this report analyzes the characteristics of scientific and technological texts and the research focus of scientific and technological text translation.This topic aims to develop corresponding translation strategies to guide the whole translation process under the guidance of communicative translation theory and the expected target of the translated text.Communicative translation theory focuses on transmitting information according to the language,culture and pragmatic mode of the target language rather than copying the original text as faithfully as possible.Under the guidance of communicative translation theory,the translator analyzes the original text cases from the lexical and syntactic levels.At the same time,annotation,conversion,reconstruction and other translation methods are used to complete translation tasks.Guided by communicative translation theory,this report makes reference to international research on COVID-19 and corresponding response measures so as to provide reference for prevention and treatment of COVID-19 in China.
