Confucianism in China is considered as a system of philosophy, politics, and ethics which has been applied in different times in terms of social life at different levels. And later it has been developed as a religion. Over many dynasties with the extraction of many scholars on theoretical system, Confucianism has become a completed theory. Therefore, not only China, Confucianism has also had impact on other neighboring countries(Vietnam, Japan, North Korea, etc).In Vietnam, it depended on historical context that Confucianism was received initiatively or passively. During the dominated time by China, the reception of Confucianism was almost passive so there was not any theorist brought its value into play. During the feudal monarchy in Vietnam, especially in the Nguyen and Le dynasties, Confucianism was received initiatively because of its positive values in managing society, country and examination mode.In the Nguyen Dynasty(1802-1945) Confucianism was regarded as a national religion, therefore, it had stronger influence on many aspects of social life in comparison with other theories. After 1858, there was important change in Vietnamese culture. Beside Chinese culture, Confucian scholars also approached the culture of their neighbor countries, especially European’s one.The advantage of spreading Confucianism contributed to a significant change in Thuan Hoa culture. Confucian culture has had an important impact on the ideology, ethics, lifestyle, thoughts and actions of the people there which could be realized in their daily activities today.Confucian Culture in the Nguyen Dynasty created a class of Confucians whose behavior and demeanor had significant influence on Thuan Hoa Culture which was considered as an exemplary for later generations when they faced individual, family or social problems. The flourishing of Confucianism in the Nguyen Dynasty created the effect on politics, culture, ethics, education, art, architecture, sculpture, religion, and the value of family and village. However, beside positive values Confucian culture also left the disadvantages of the feudal monarchy that need to overcome to integrate with different cultures in the world, and retains own cultural identity simultaneously. To be able to integrate harmoniously with other cultures, we need to respect and bright into play the positive culture values that our ancestors nurtured and repel the negative ones.
