Factors Affecting Interpreting In Press Conference And Study Of Strategies Against Them From The Perspective Of Interpretive Theory

This paper bases itself on the material provided by the2012Stockholm Press Conference of Mo Yan and discusses the features of press conference interpretation. The paper gives a general review of the previous researches on the theories of interpretation whereof the obstacles are analyzed. Some strategies and solutions are also suggested in the paper.Therefore the approaches employed are mainly the theories of interpretive and contrastive analysis. In addition some language data from the Western movies are referred to analyze cultural difference and images obstacles in the press conference interpretation. Detailed analyses are made in the differences of the concept of love, time, oneself and the address manner between the Chinese and the Western cultures, with a view to improving the quality of cross-cultural interpretation practice.It is hoped that the present study will prove to be of both theoretical significance and practical value to press conference interpretation studies.
