Prosocial behavior is a kind of positive social behavior, willing tohelp others as the basic performance. Prosocial behavior is animportant component in the process of individual socialization, moreand more sociologists, philosophers and psychologists pay attentionto it, among these researchs children and adolescents’ prosocialbehavior are the key of the research object. Modern education systemof new higher vocational education is different from general highereducation, it has its unique teaching characteristics, the existingresearch in the study of individual mental characteristics of highervocational students is relatively small. Higher vocational students arein critical period of individual socialization, what the characteristicsof their prosocial behavior,and what the relationships betweenprosocial behavior and individual’s self-esteem and subjectivewell-being, this article will be studied in detail in this paper. Adopt theProsocial Tendencies Measure (PTM), the Self-Esteem Scale (SES),the General Well-Being Schedule (GWB), questionnaire survey wasconducted on532higher vocational students, to explore the prosocialbehavior type of higher vocational students, prosocial behavior andthe relationships between self-esteem and subjective well-being. Inthis study, the following conclusions: (1)Through the strict requirements of self-reported prosocialbehavior, the emergent prosocial behavior is shown in most cases,and following are: emotional prosocial behavior, compliance prosocialbehavior, anonymous prosocial behavior, altruistic prosocial behaviorand public prosocial behaviors.(2) Prosocial behavior itself in gender, whether the only child andthe place of birth of the three demographic variables had nosignificant difference. During the type of prosocial behavior, only thecompliance pro-social behavior has differences on gender.(3)There is a significant negative correlation between self-esteemand prosocial behavior; and between subjective well-being andprosocial behavior exists a significant positive correlation,self-esteem and subjective well-being all have good prediction effecton prosocial behavior.(4) There is a partial mediation effect of self-esteem betweensubjective well-being and prosocial behavior.
