The Relationship Between Self-concept Clarity And Social Adaptation

Adaptation is the individual’s whole life mission, and school adjustment in the university is particularly important for the individual, it is related to Personality, Values, and the ability to enter into society after graduating from university.It is a very common phenomenon that current college students can not adapt to school life, such as can not integrate into the new interpersonal environment, the learning environment and thus out of the collective,can not learn professional knowledge better. Investigate the root causes of these problems, on the one hand It may relate to the unclear position about themselves, on the other hand it probably because lacking of interpersonal relationship support.Aftering combing the literature on adaptation I discover self-concept clarity is associated with many aspects of social adaptation, so this study is to dig deeper relationships between self-concept clarity social adaptation to find the fundamental reasons which influence social adaptation. Meanwhile I will explore the relationship between friendship quality, self-concept clarity and social adjustment further.Therefore,after knowing the basic situation of college students’ self concept clarity, friendship quality and social adaptation,this study will explore the relationship among social adaptation, self-concept clarity and friendship quality,to provide a scientific basis for better mental health education, improve students the adaptation level and make college students adapt to university life better. After analysis the collecting data shows: self-concept clarity is related to social adaptation significantly, and the regression of social adaptation to self-concept significant;self-concept clarity is related to friendship quality and the regression of friendship to self-concept clarity is significant; friendship quality is associated with social adaptation and regression effect is significant.Finally, in accordance with the procedure of intermediary inspection I examined the mediating role of friendship quality, results showed that: friendship quality play a imperfect mediating role between self-concept clarity friendship and social adaptation.
