Recently our researches for teaching Chinese as a foreign language are mainly focused on adults, but for children, there are only a few of researches which have not formed a complete system.Researches on the teaching design of Chinese as a foreign language for children have their practical meaning, and this paper has carried out a preliminary inquiry for it.From May to September of 2014, the author was a student teacher in the St. Francis church school of Thailand and mainly responsible for teaching Chinese for kids of the first and second grade. In the course of internship, the author interviewed several holders and Chinese teachers of the school to know its history of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and in the real teaching practice, the author summarized the conditions of teaching in time, continued to adjust the method for teaching and logged 5 times of teaching videos for cycling learning.In the course of writing this paper, the author tries her best to connect theory to the reality by reading a lot of books and literatures, and in the base of the author’s own practice experience. some thinking and suggestions about burgeoning children’s teaching Chinese as a foreign language have been raised. When facing a group of seven or eight-years-old Thailand children, as a Chinese teacher, it is necessary to think about these questions such as teaching which language knowledge for them, using which strategy to attract their interest and showing which Chinese culture to them. which is hoped to offer a kind of new idea for children’s teaching Chinese as a foreign language.In the course of internship, the author deeply realized that well teaching Chinese as a foreign language for children was very hard, because solid professional knowledge and great patience were necessary. Children as a special group have their individualism on the second language, which we need to dig deeply, and understanding the characteristics of children’s learning language is the only way to find the best method to teach Chinese for children. Majority of Thailand children who are lively like Chinese teachers and language, but meantime because of small age and bad self-control, it is easy for them to learn quickly and forget quickly. To zero-based children, in the course of one semester’s learning, strong interest formed in Chinese language and desire for continuing to learn is very critical for their Chinese learning in future.
