The complex and multivariate folk religious sects are important parts of Chinese traditional culture. There exists one folk Taoism, named Liishan Sect, in Southeast of Guangxi provice. They have played a key role in promoting the all kinds of the local belief activities, especially in the Big Banner Ritual.Through on the field investigation of the Big Banner Ritual, which exists in Southeast of Guangxi, the paper researched the phenomenons of the Buddhism culture, and treats the assimilation of Buddhism into Taoism as the substance of the subject. The author has extracted, summarized and sorted the Buddhist culture elements in ritual, and has discussed relevant issues.The thesis consists of ten parts. The first part is the introduction,which elaborates the background, the object of study and the research significance of this paper. It also summarizes up the research situation in the related fields, and explains the research methods, the innovations, the difficulties and the basis of the paper. In the second part, the paper focuses on the Lushan Sect to explore its historical origin and the present situation of the inheritance, and summarizes the basic elements and the characteristics of the Ritual.In the third part, the paper mainly summarize the Big Banner Ritual, which is the representative ritual of Lushan Sect, cards its history. And then it is found out that there exists a great deal of buddhist culture in Big Banner Ritual. It introduces the main idea, which is culture of the assimilation of Buddhism into Taoism in Lushan Sect. It also expounds the relationship between the Buddhism and Taoism and the evolution historical of the ritual. At last it studies the effect and methods of assimilation of Buddhism into Taoism in Lushan sect, provided a routh for the follow discussion the later. In the fourth part, the paper emphasis on explaining the Wen altar, including explaining its position and effect in ritual, and comparing to the other similar altars. The Wen altar stands for the Buddhist culture concentrately. It acts as an actual carrier for the assimilation of Buddhism into Taoism in Lushan Sect. The author vividly call it as the stronghold of Buddhist culture. The fifth part of the paper illustrates that the author has investigated the Confessional Rituals and organized the scriptures. It analyzed the reality form of the assimilation of Buddhism into Taoism of the Liishan Sect, respectively from two aspects that the absorbtion of the Buddhism Confession thought as well as the reference of the Buddhism repentance regulations for the Liishan Sect. In the sixth part, the author analyzed the phenomenon of Pu-an religion, which is reflected from liandu ritual, with a typical of the worship of the figure, the Buddha, the patriarch in Buddhism. In the seventh part, it is found out that the shigu ritual, is in fact a creation of liandu ritual in Taoism and Fangyankou ritual Tantric in Buddhism combined by Lushan Sect, through reproducing the process of shigu ritual. In the eighth part, the author centrally deciphered the classic Buddism ethics thoughts, including reincarnation, Karma, compassion. Become a buddhist and so on, absorbed by Liishan Sect. The ninth part of the paper summarized the reasons, the positive and negative effects of the fact that Liishan Sect Assimilate Buddhism into itself. The author also discussed its development trend. The last but not the least part of the paper, it summarizes the full text, supplements and extends it to a certain degree.
