A Study On The Evolution Of Chinese "Anger" Semantic Field Core Verbs

Verbs represent human behavior and action, they are one of the most closely associated with human life in th parts of speech. Core verb research is an important part of the common word study, from the diachronic perspective,the change of core verbs plays a vital role in the entire field of semantic change.This article uses the statistical method and comparison method, the combination of synchronic and diachronic method.Based on the ancient books and electronic databases,we study the evolution law of the class of core verbs “ anger ” in semantic field. On the choice of core verb, by comparing the frequency of each word in different periods, pragmatic scope,degree of table righteousness,we select 愠(yun)、怏(yang)、愤(fen)、忿(fen)、怒(nu)、恚(hui)、忾(kai)、悁(juan)、气(qi)、恼(nao)、怄(ou)、瞋(chen)、嗔(chen)、懑(men)、闷(men)、怼(dui)、火(huo)17 typical members as “anger” semantic field at the core of the verb.Installment according to Chinese history, this paper is divided into three periods of ancient, medieval and modern.By the frequency of using each time and meaning covering elements,we select about 10 representative literatures to research systematically.The synchronic point of view, basically see the change of meaning, use frequency, word formation, grammar collocation and the position in the semantic field.The perspective of diachronic mainly research the aspects of evolution of alternate and analysis the members of the semantic field in different piriods,it is manifested as the emergence of new words and the demise of the old words.The kind of semantic field core word “angry”also reflects some characteristics and rules. First of all,the members of “anger”semantic field exsit gradual change and inheritance in different period, and the core members of the semantic field is relatively stable, high frequency words change is big, new members grow fast.,the division of labor become clearly. Secondly,the tendency of transformation from monosyllabic words to polysyllabic words is obvious, In different periods,the same undertaken by different words,there are an phenomenon of the turn between new words and the old words in semantic field,there arenew and old.In the evolution of “anger” semantic field,in combination with the phenomenon in the evolution of the word class. Polysyllabic words present a combination of word formation. This evolution is the result of the role of internal factors and external factors.The arrangement of the full text content: the first part is introduction, mainly introduced the research significance, research status, research methods in this paper.In addition, it also explicit the object of “anger” core verb and explain the related issues in this paper. The second to the fourth part is the description of,it include three period: ancient,medieval and modern.According to the degree of anger,we descript the members of anger semantic field,combined with the actual use of the dictionary and language, to analysis the change in meaning of each period and position in the semantic field. The fifth part is to find out the meaning of the use in semantic field among different stages,it is from the diachronic investigation. The sixth part summarizes the evolution of the core verb "anger" semantic field, introduces its characteristics, and explore its regularity and reasons of evolution.
