Using the Chinese words “zhengzai”, “zheng”, “zai”, “zhe”, and “ne” are the main methods of expressing the progresive aspect.Using the Vietnamese word "?ang” is the main method of expressing the progresive aspect.The two groups of words share some similarities in the semantic and syntax,while also sharing some differences. The semantic comparison will mainly analyze the similarities and differences of the six words in semantic characteristics and meanings. The syntax comparison will mainly discuss the similarities and the differences by three aspects, including the parts of speech, words used as ingredients,and the rule that one word can co-occur with other words in a sentence. I reveal the similarities and differences of the words by comparing and analyzing the two groups,this would help the Vietnamese people who are learning Chinese to comprehend the meaning and usage of “zhengzai”, “zheng”, “zai”, “zhe”, and “ne” in Chinese, so they can make better use of these words. Finally, their Chinese language proficiency will improve. Moreover, the study can also play a role in promoting Chinese people to learn “?ang” of Vietnamese.
