In the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language, possible complement and state complement because of many similarities in form, the learner is easy to confuse the two,therefore, the distinction between possible complement and state complement has become the key and difficulty in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. In this paper, we will make a distinction between the preconditions, the structural form and the meaning of the context, in order to make the learners understand possible complement and state complement better, and offer the service of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The introduction part, through the analysis of the previous research of possible complement and state complement, made a general description of the current status of research, and determined the definition of potential complement and state complement.This paper determined the research focus of this paper, focusing on the distinction of the syntactic and semantic aspects of possible complement the state complement.The first part, with the angle of structure and form,made a research on the form of adjective complement,the sentence pattern of possible complement and state complement,and the negative form and the interrogative form.The second and third part made a research of syntactic and semantic aspects of possible complement and state complement. On the premise of appearance, the premise of possible complement is that the action is not carried out, but the premise of state complement is that the action has taken place.The forth part, starting from the teaching view of possible complement and state complement,made a research of the confusions of possible complement and state complement,and give some suggetions on teaching.The fifth part made a summary of the main points and conclusions of this paper, pointed out shallows and shortcomings, and established the direction for further research.
