The new generation of Chinese migrant workers(also can be called the peasant-workers) is the pioneer in China’s urbanization and citizenization process, so their ability to integrate into the city life, the current situation of their mental adaptive ability and its influencing factors have attracted broad attention in the whole society. The main purpose of this research is to explore the current situation and relationship of the implicit group favoritism and explicit group favoritism for the new generation of Chinese migrant workers, meanwhile the influence of perceived discrimination and attribution tendentiousness on group favoritism is also to be studied in this study. This study can be divided into two parts. The first part is to survey the explicit group favoritism with the Semantic Differential Scale and the implicit group favoritism by the Implicit Association Test, based on samples of 124 people of the new generation of Chinese migrant workers, and the relationship between these two variables will be further discussed. The second part is to take 118 people of the new generation of migrant workers as samples, to study the roles of the attribution tendentiousness played in the relations between perceived discrimination and implicit or explicit group favoritism, with research tools (the Semantic Differential Scale and the Implicit Association Test) used in the first part, and the questionnaires for perceived discrimination and attribution tendentiousness. The following main conclusions are reached through these two parts:(1) Significant explicit and implicit out-group favoritism (here refer to citizen) are found for the new generation of Chinese migrant workers, but deviations between explicit preference for out-group and implicit preferences are also found.(2)The perceived discrimination has a positive predication on implicit out-group favoritism. The stronger feeling of discrimination, the more preferences for citizen group of the new generation of Chinese migrant workers.(3)The perceived discrimination has a negative predication on explicit out-group favoritism. The stronger feeling of discrimination, the more preferences for their own group of the new generation of Chinese migrant workers.(4)The attribution tendentiousness plays as a moderator between perceived discrimination and implicit out-group favoritism:for those new generation of Chinese migrant workers with intropunitive attribution, the higher level of perceived discrimination, the more implicit out-group favoritism; While for those with extrapunitive attribution, the higher level of perceived discrimination, the less implicit out-group favoritism.(5)The attribution tendentiousness also functions as a moderator in the relations between perceived discrimination and explicit out-group favoritism of the new generation of migrant workers:for those with intropunitive attribution, the higher level of perceived discrimination, the less explicit out-group favoritism; But no outstanding effects of perceived discrimination are found on group favoritism for those people with extrapunitive attribution.
