Adverbial is one of the most important grammar components in modern Chinese, and it is also the common grammar component in Chinese and English. This paper studies the adverbial errors phenomenon when English native speakers study Chinese. Chinese is one of the Sino-Tibetan language families, it lacks of morphological changes of the word; and English is Indo-European, the use of adverbial is different from Chinese to the English native learners in learning Chinese. So the adverbial errors are very common in international students’ essays.By reorganizing the corpus, the article summed up four kinds of error types: incomplete adverbial, redundant adverbial, wrong sequence, adverbial using errors. Then, by analyzing we thought the reasons causing these adverbial errors are:the negative impact of learners’native language, the special characters of Chinese adverbial, the difficulty of aiming language and the influence of teachers、students and teaching material.Based on the overall analysis of the adverbial errors types and causes, at last, the article points out suggestions for English native speakers to learn Chinese adverbial, hoping it will be helpful to them afterwards.
