This thesis bases on the investigate of progressive mark, analyzing the semantic and pragmatic function of them, the pragmatic function is an emphasis. This thesis also try to point out the errors of overseas students who study Chinese in our country about progressive mark. On this basis, trying to forward some teaching strategies.Progressive marker is the important part of associated marks. They always be used in spoken language and written language, so to some extent, they have a great research value. Progressive marker is the same as other associated mark, they have complex forms, various usages and contain different grammatical units like conjunctions, adverbs and some phrase. Different progressive mark have different features on the semantic where and pragmatic function.This thesis first summarizes the grammatical features of progressive mark and then makes new classification based on the grammatical nature of progressive markers. In this thesis, progressive marker has been divided into four types:forward progressive, reverse progressive, supplement progressive and emphatic progressive. And the supplement progressive and emphatic progressive are the key points which are different from other classifying mode and are classified by their pragmatic function.In this thesis, the pragmatic functions about progressive mark is commenced from three aspects:pragmatic scale function, counter-anticipation function and subjective function. The pragmatic scale function is mainly refers to forward progressive and reverse progressive; The counter-anticipation function includes three types:the opposition of listener’s prospective, the opposition of speaker’s prospective and the opposition of background information. The subjective function analyzes the progressive mark in four progressive types subjectively.This paper combines the progressive mark and their use in TCFL and then analyses several high-frequency and easy-confused progressive marks. This paper also provides more reasonable opinion for TCFL by similar comparison, In addition, the paper investigates the other error types about progressive mark.At the end of the paper, the related research about progressive mark is applied to the teaching and the paper provides several suggestions,including progressive mark teaching combined with context, subjectivity and multi-function.
