Family ideological and moral education, as an integral part of the familyeducation content, is the core and soul of family education. The Chinese nation hasthe noble traditions of family education for one thousand years, attaching greatimportance to moral education on children and this tradition continues to nowadays.However, in the special historical period of social transformation, profound changeshave taken place in values, people’s ideology, life style, the behavior way, inducingsome new contradictions and problems. Family moral education also ushered newopportunities and challenges. How to scientifically deal with and rationally viewthese problems, timely adjust the content and method of ideological and moraleducation to meet the needs of adapting to the changed social reality, is not only thedifficult problem of education practice workers, but also the major issue needed tobe thought about by education theory research area. Research on this issue has veryimportant realistic significance and far-reaching historical significance not only for aperson’s overall health and growth, also helps to enhance the overall national quality,promote national economic and social development and maintain social harmonyand stability.Over the years, our country education workers have made a large number ofresearch and exploration to family education problems and has obtained certainresearch results, promoting the further development of family education practice. Onthe basis of learning from the related research results, this article makes the basic ofinvestigation and study, pays attention to the combination of theory and practice, andtries the breakthrough and innovation in close to contact with practical problems ofsocial transformation, the feasibility and operability of ideological and moraleducation. This paper analyzes and believes that family ideology and moral character education is minor children personality forming process and a series of activities ofindividual moral education transformed from the moral cognition, moral feeling,moral will and moral behavior. It has fundamental, inheritance, demonstration andpertinence other education can’t replace. And there are differences between it andschool ideology and moral character education, and they also has the close relation,mutual influence, interaction. The family structure, family pattern, family educationfunction, family living style in social transition period show the features of diversity,complexity, flexibility and uncertainty. Family moral education is also faced withmany other problems and challenges of education concept, education content,education method, education environment, education ability and education goals. Tothis, this paper argues that we should try to do more in renewal education idea, theeducation goal, a clear responsibility education, optimizing the education content,improving education method, and realizing the modern transformation of familyeducation in an all-round way on the basis of learning from the advanced educationalexperience of ancient and modern, Chinese and foreign in order to adapt to the socialtransition of people’s comprehensive quality and the special requirements of moralculture, cultivating talents of adaptability, developmental need.
