Study On The Spiritual Solace Of The Rural Empty-nesters By Group Work

Accelerated development of China’s aging population, showing aging, empty nest of the accelerated development of two new features. As the elderly population increasing, people living environment changing, population mobility enhancing, and family composition changing to smaller families, there are more and more empty-nesters. The problem of spiritual consolation of empty-nesters is not only involves thousands of families but also affects the social sensitive nerve. Rural empty-nester’s spiritual consolation problem compared to affluent life and high level of culture is more serious than urban empty-nesters.This paper is based on the research of the empty-nesters in a village of Guangzong county of Xingtai, exploring the effects of group work on rural empty-nesters of the spiritual consolation. Through the questionnaire survey for basic situation, economic and emotional needs, respect needs, security needs, and cultural entertainment needs of survey of empty-nesters in M village. We can found that most of empty-nesters has strong spiritual needs, however, spiritual solace subject cannot satisfy their spiritual needs. So, the situation of spiritual consolation is alarming. Study on the empty-nester’s problem of spiritual consolation in M village mainly through several ways, such as,the questionnaire, the action research, and adopting the method of group work. So, according to their spiritual needs held four specific activities.By the feedback of old man and self-evaluation of social workers.We can found that group work method is beneficial to solve the empty nester’s problem of spiritual consolation. In the M village, empty-nesters through participation in group activities, part of their spiritual needs are met, social support network are established. The sense of loneliness are relieved. This study will bring some enlightenment to us. When we faced with the related problems, we can take the following measures: First, strengthen the propaganda of social work and attach great importance to the service of rural empty-nesters spiritual comfort; Second, improve the professional quality of social workers and perfect the service plan and service skills; Third, rich social intervention mode and improve the service efficiency; Fourth, build a empty nester spiritual consolation service follow-up tracking mechanism and strengthen the service effect.
