An important branch of mass music culture as the field of mass culture,with its unique light in human music history, life and growth in nature, has a longhistory. As a mainstream culture in today’s society of popular music culture, a strongimpact to people’s spiritual life, make people’s aesthetic idea of music is undergoingtremendous change. As the rapid development of mass media technology, popular musichas penetrated into all aspects of people’s lives, but also has a profound influence onteenagers, teenagers as the main body of the middle school music education. Therefore,in the background of mass music culture of the middle school music education reform isthe theme of the times, adapt to a new round of the reform of music education in thetrend of the times.In this paper, the middle school music education under the background of popularmusic culture as the research object, the main research method with the questionnaireand interviews, field trips to the music education of the middle school, the true andreliable evidence, have a further understanding on the basis of the cultural backgroundof mass music of middle school music education present situation method, and putsforward the existing problems and solutions. This paper first introduces the concept ofmass music culture, influence of mass music culture creation characteristic and popularmusic culture on middle school music education and summarizes. Secondly, on the basisof investigation and research, carried out a detailed and in-depth analysis of the currentsituation of middle school music education and cultural background of mass music,point out the main contradictions and problems existing in the middle school musicteaching, the contradiction that the spread of popular music culture influence onstudents and popular music under the cultural background. Once again,the middle schoolmusic teaching practice and the cultural background of mass music are explored, diversification that middle school music teaching practice under the background ofpopular music culture and the practice object. Finally, on the basis of the two chapters,on a full range of high school music education and cultural background of mass music,further enhance the middle school music teachers, music professional accomplishmentin the background of popular music culture, the middle school music teacherscomprehensive science literacy promotion and the improvement of teaching ability, onthis basis, the integration of the proposed secondary school music teaching resourcesunder the background of popular music culture, the development of mass music cultureresources and middle school music teaching material combination and middle schoolmusic school-based teaching materials. In short, in the background of popular musicculture, music education in middle schools should proceed from the reality, continue tocarry out reform, to improve students’ music quality and humanistic quality.
