Objective:The purpose of this paper is to statistics the different age of children participate in recent years table tennis matche’s bone age, life age and related data, analysis of different ages athletes and ordinary student’s growth and development status, find the suitable development type of table tennis athletes. To build a fair, just and open national youth table tennis game. And according to the bone age detection provides the basis for selected excellent athletes from the game.Methods:The research object is 2008-2014 national youth competition men athletes wrist qualified X ray 2368 piece, women athletes wrist qualified X ray 1906 piece, the primary and middle school ordinary students boys wrist qualified X ray 1278 piece, girls wrist qualified X ray 1189 piece. With the method Chinese hand carpal 05 to assess the bone development levels.Results:Bone age has highly correlated to the life age. Male athletes of all ages bone age were greater than their life age and there are significant differences. In addition to the 17 ages female athletes’s life age was greater than bone age and there is no significant difference, other age group’s bone age were greater than life age and there are significant differences. Man ordinary students aged 6-7 bone age is less than the age of life, women ordinary students aged 6-8 bone age and 16 bone age is less than the age of life, other age groups bone age is greater than life age, some of them have no significant difference. Men and women table tennis athletes born in the quarter mainly concentrated in the first quarter. Male athletes early development percentage is greater than the male’s ordinary students, normal development percentage and late growth percentage is less than ordinary students Female athletes early development percentage is greater than the women’s ordinary students, normal development percentage they are close, late growth percentage is less than ordinary students. The percentage of male athletes age change of 27.33%. Female athletes was 28.22%. Male athletes to be repeated bone age measurement within six month accounted for 44.67% of the total number, women athletes accounted for 43.07%. Eight of eleven elite athletes are normal development type.Conclusion:1. Use China 05 age standard interpretation, acoording to the athelete take part in table tennis age-grouping matches sign up date of birth to caculate their age, athletes have ealry developmental type more than the same age, same gender ordinary students.2. Under the existing bone age detection methods, there are athletes lie age phenomenon.3. To be excellent table tennis player has the earlier development of normal development.
