Suburban New Citizen Group Well-being Study Under The Perspective Of Social Adaptation Theory

At present, with the accelerating process of urbanization in our country, the expansion of city scale become an inevitable trend. And the scale of the suburban new citizen community has been expanded. Three years ago, a research on the happiness of the suburb new citizens in Yangtze river delta region pointed out that the well-being of suburban new citizen community is low. And the well-being is regional different and internal different. Social adaptation theory says that when man face a social transformation or social development, they will initially have a strong reaction. But as time goes on, they will gradually adapt to the new life events, as a result, to make it back to the original state. After three years, did the well-being of suburban new citizens change? What factors led to this result? My research defined these questions as our starting point and major problems.Based on the thoughts above, through on the theory of social adaptation and empirical survey data, the author inspected the actual status of the well-being of the new citizens, and compare it with the data three years ago. Also the author found that after the social adaptation of three-years, the well-being of suburban new citizens has been improving. But it is still not very high. The well-being of the new citizens in different groups are different. On this basis, the author according to the main content of three aspects of social adaptation, like economy adaptation, life adaptation, psychological adaptation to analyze and summarize both advantages and practical difficulties in promoting the well-being of suburban new citizens. And the author try to put forward intervention direction. Concretely, the author found that the lack of land requisition compensation is not the only and fundamental factor which influenced the well-being index of the new citizen community. The main subjective experience of the suburban new citizens is also very important. The ascension of this positive emotional energy both rely on their, the suburban new citizen’s, own efforts to realize citizenship, and the social organization and interpersonal network which cannot be ignored.Study on the well-being index of suburban new citizen community is an interdisciplinary subject. It needs to consider the psychology of micro individuality difference, Also it cannot ignore social focus on macro social factors. Also on the one hand, the study enriches the interdisciplinary researches on well-being. On the other hand, also the study provides more research data for social adaptation researches on other immigrant groups or well-being researches.
