Research On Lack Of ’Citizen Of Rights’ And ’Citizen Of Responsibilities’ And Corresponding Strategy Of Education In University

Currently, our society is in the period of transformation, it’s the inevitable trend that builds socialism country under the rule of law. It needs to strengthen the cultivation of citizens’ quality in the sense of the rule of law, and universities need to undertake the responsibility of civil consciousness cultivation and even the construction of civil society.However, the reality is that university is both lack of right and responsibility of citizens. After the reform and opening, society is becoming increasingly free, open, democratic, and the right idea is popular to people. Some teachers and students are lacking consciousness of rights of citizen, and their rights can’t be guaranteed; at the same time, lacking responsibilities that academic citizen shall undertake. What’s more, existing organizations of universities are affected by the feudal ethics and responsibility ethics,and which reinforce the separation of right and responsibility of citizens.The reality is that the upper’s right is hard to be restricted; there is no way to express or express weaknessly for the lower; the lower has weak responsibility consciousness.Through the analysis of university teachers’ and students’ right and responsibility consciousness, this study thinks that the feudal tradition, the influence of the cultural revolution, the interests of the era of market,deviation of school civic education content and high costs for protection of rights are the reasons of university lacking of right and responsibility of citizens. The negative effects brought the deviation of university education purpose, the deviation of education value orientation, lacking of training of judgment among university teachers and students.Based on the above thinking, in view of the plight of university civic education, universities can make the following efforts:basic strategies, including knowledge base imparting theoretical knowledge, and thinking base-training critical thinking; for the part of affordable education strategy, including providing institutional guarantee for maintaining the rights and bearing the responsibility, and creating fair and equal campus environment.
