Research On The Problem Of College Students’ Academic Integrity

College is not only supposed to be an important base of knowledge dissemination and personnel training, but also a main place of technological innovation. Academic integrity has been our tradition since ancient time. But with the development of market economy, there has been a common practice of eager for quick success and getting instant benefits, doing something restlessly in the transition period, and traditional integrity encounters unprecedented challenges. In the university the atmosphere of academic corruption is in vogue, which brings a negative impact on college students’thought of academic integrity. Academic integrity has become a moral quality which students is short of. College students are an important part of the academic community, and shoulder the historic mission of academic development and prosperity. Students’academic morals is not only directly concerned with their academic accomplishment and moral quality, but also with the future and destiny of academic development. Therefore, the issue of college students’ academic dishonesty has become an urgent problem in contemporary society, and the study of college students’academic integrity is also of great significance.This article is based on the reality of the college students’academic dishonesty, which firstly proposes academic integrity is a fundamental obligation of college students. Then it analyzes the current situation of college students’academic integrity through the method of literature, questionnaires and interviews. Then it explores the reasons for college students’ academic dishonesty, on this basis, and proposes the suggestions to strengthen the college students’academic integrity.This article mainly includes five parts:The introduction discusses the background and significance of the study, the definition of the relevant concepts, an overview of the research scholars in the field, as well as the method used in this study.The first part of the text proposes academic integrity is a fundamental obligation of college students, and clarifies the basic requirements of academic integrity, and points out the importance of academic integrity to college students.The second part conducts a survey analysis of the situation of academic integrity to the students of Zhejiang Normal University, and summarizes the main behavior of college students in the performance of the lack of academic integrity.The third part analyzes the main causes of this behavior:the impact of social profit-oriented thinking, the absence of academic moral education at school, the unsound management systems and students’distorted academic values.The fourth part proposes the corresponding suggestion for the reason of college students’ academic dishonesty:firstly, strengthen academic and moral education; secondly, improve the institutional mechanisms of honesty education; thirdly, enhance college students’academic and moral self-awareness; fourthly, concerts the efforts of school, family and society.
